Patchouli

Patchouli is an indispensable staple in traditional Hoodoo and rootwork. Renowned for its rich, dark, earthy, and complex scent, it is a master herb of manifestation. In the tradition of conjure, patchouli is heavily relied upon for money drawing, business success, and deeply rooted love spells. Its heavy earth resonance also makes it a powerful substitute for graveyard dirt in certain workings, offering a grounding, binding energy that takes hold slowly but with absolute permanence. Whole patchouli leaves retain the full architecture of the plant and release their extraordinary essential oils gradually—making them the superior choice for feeding mojo bags, sweetening jars, and cashbox workings where sustained, compounding energy is required.

The Root & The Bone Difference

Ways to Use Patchouli in Conjure

✦Money Drawing Hands: Add whole leaves to a green flannel mojo bag along with magnetic sand and a lodged mercury dime to draw steady, accumulating cash.
✦Love & Attraction: A renowned enticer in hoodoo. Steep in carrier oil to dress pink or red candles, or add to a red mojo bag to draw passionate, physically grounded love.
✦Business Success: Sprinkle a pinch of crushed leaves under the welcome mat of your business or keep whole leaves in the cash register to keep money flowing in and staying put.
✦Commanding & Compelling: When mixed with calamus or licorice root, patchouli is excellent for taking control of a situation and bending others to your will.
✦Graveyard Dirt Substitute: Due to its deeply earthy nature and connection to the soil, patchouli can be respectfully substituted for graveyard dirt in certain protective or crossing formulas.
✦Uncrossing & Protection: Burn over charcoal alongside rue and camphor to break stubborn crossed conditions, establish firm boundaries, and clear a space of jinxes.
✦Honey Jars: Add to sweetening jars targeted at a boss for a raise, or a target for deepening physical devotion.

Conjure Suggestion Money Stay-With-Me Mojo +

To draw money and prevent it from slipping through your fingers, prepare a green flannel mojo bag on a Thursday. Combine a whole patchouli leaf, a pinch of cinnamon, a piece of High John the Conqueror root, and a silver dime. Breathe into the bag to give it life, then tie it shut. Feed the bag weekly with a few drops of Money Drawing oil or whiskey, keeping it hidden in your pocket or purse to ensure steady, building wealth.

Curio Note Whole Leaves & Important Notes +

Patchouli is one of the rare botanicals that genuinely improves with age—its scent deepens, sweetens, and becomes more complex over time as the essential oils mature. Whole leaves age more gracefully than cut or powdered herb, making them the practitioner's choice for workings intended to build and deepen over months and years. Store in a cool, dark place.
