The Oracle Tasseography & Reading with Bagged Tea +

We are often asked, can you read tea leaves with a tea bag? Our answer is, absolutely! While standard grocery store tea bags contain finely crushed "tea dust" that settles into a muddy clump, the plant-based pyramid sachets are filled with 2–2.5 grams of whole-leaf black tea, whole lavender buds, and real orange peel. This gives you the exact botanical textures needed to form clear, dynamic symbols in your cup.

How to Perform a Sachet Tea Leaf Reading:

Release the Botanicals: Before pouring your water, snip the corner of the pyramid sachet with clean scissors (think of this as cutting the energetic cord to the mundane world) and empty the whole leaves directly into a light-colored teacup. Alternatively, steep the intact sachet first, then cut it open and empty the wet leaves into the bottom of your cup when only a few sips remain.
Steep with Intention: Pour hot water over the leaves. As the lavender and bergamot steam rises, hold your hands around the cup and focus on your question.
Sip & Swirl: Drink the tea slowly until only about a teaspoon of liquid remains at the bottom. Hold the cup in your non-dominant hand (your receptive, intuitive side) and swirl the remaining liquid three times clockwise (deosil) to bring positive energy and manifest outcomes, all while focusing on your query.
The Turn: Gently invert the cup onto a saucer. Leave it for three deep breaths to allow the liquid to drain and the botanicals to cling to the porcelain walls.
Read the Leaves: Turn the cup upright with the handle facing you. Notice how the different ingredients speak: dark black tea leaves form primary shapes and shadows, slender lavender buds often act as directional pointers or spiritual markers, and heavier orange peel pieces anchor the core theme of the reading.

Quick Reference: Mapping the Teacup Zones

The Handle	Represents you (the querent), your home, and your immediate physical environment. Symbols closest to the handle affect you directly.
The Rim (Top)	The present moment and immediate future (events unfolding within the next few days to a couple of weeks).
The Sides (Middle)	The near future (roughly one to three months out) and developing situations currently in motion.
The Bottom (Base)	The distant future (six months to a year), deep subconscious roots, or the overarching theme of your reading.

Beginner's Guide: Common Tea Leaf & Botanical Symbols

Lines & Paths	Straight lines indicate a clear, unobstructed journey or decisive plan; wavy lines suggest emotional shifts or uncertainty requiring patience.
Circles & Rings	Completion, harmony, cycles coming full circle, or a significant agreement/partnership. A broken circle points to a temporary delay.
Crescent Moon or Star	Heightened intuition, spiritual protection, and a sign to trust your psychic instincts over purely logical noise.
Birds & Wings	Incoming news, messages from spirit guides, travel, or a sudden burst of creative freedom.
Single Lavender Bud	Acts as a spiritual compass needle—look closely at the symbol or cup zone the bud is pointing toward, as it highlights where peace or psychic focus is needed most.
Orange Peel Anchor	Because the citrus peel is dense and solar-charged, wherever it settles marks a "bright spot" of luck, vitality, or the core material outcome of your question.

Closing the Ritual (Returning the Leaves): Never wash your divination leaves straight down the kitchen drain! Because both our herbs and plant-based pyramid sachets are 100% biodegradable, you can return them directly to the Earth. If your reading revealed auspicious blessings you wish to manifest, bury the spent leaves at the base of a favorite tree or garden bed to help those intentions take root and grow. If the reading offered a warning or helped you release stagnant energy, scatter the leaves into the wind or compost them outdoors with a quiet word of gratitude, allowing the Earth to neutralize and transform the energy.
