Depending on your specific tradition or path, the orientation of the horseshoe carries different symbolic meanings:

• Horns Pointing Up (Like a "U"): This is the most common traditional placement. It is believed to act as a spiritual chalice, "catching" and storing good luck, prosperity, and blessings for the household so they do not spill out.
• Horns Pointing Down: In some historical practices, the horseshoe is inverted over a doorway so that good luck and protective energy "pour" down onto anyone who walks beneath it.
• Altar Use: Laying the horseshoe flat on an altar space creates a grounded boundary of iron, historically used to anchor protective spellwork or serve as a heavy base for candle magic.

1. Does this horseshoe need to be spiritually cleansed?

2. How do I mount this to my wall or door?

The horseshoe features traditional nail holes. You can use standard rustic nails, heavy-duty hanging wire, or ribbon to affix it securely above a doorway or on a wall.
