Agrimonia eupatoria

Agrimony is one of the most quietly powerful herbs in the European folk magic tradition — a plant that has stood at the crossroads of healing and protection for over a thousand years. Known in medieval England as a remedy for “all evil sorceries,” carried by cunning folk as a ward against hexes, and prized in Hoodoo for its remarkable ability to reverse and return harmful workings to their sender, agrimony is the herb of the practitioner who understands that the best defense is a mirror. Gentle in appearance, with its slender spires of small yellow flowers, it is formidable in practice. Agrimony is also a deeply restorative herb energetically — one that clears, heals, and rebalances after periods of psychic strain, spiritual attack, or energetic depletion. It is the herb you reach for when you need to both shield and recover.

The Witchcraft Essentials Difference

At Witchcraft Essentials, we believe the vessel should be as high-quality as the contents. Your agrimony herb is carefully hand-prepared and sealed in our signature 3×4 inch resealable plastic bag, designed to preserve potency, aroma, and freshness from the moment it leaves our hands to the moment it enters your practice. To complete the experience, your order includes a delicate 4×6 inch organza sachet — making it immediately ready for ritual use or beautifully presented as a cherished gift for the practitioner in your life.

Ways to Use Agrimony in Your Practice

✦Hex-Breaking & Reversing: Agrimony acts as a mirror, returning harmful energy and ill-wishing back to the sender. Add to reversing candles, black salt, or uncrossing baths.
✦Protection & Warding: Sprinkle across thresholds or add to protection mojo bags to create a reliable shield against psychic attack and negative intentions.
✦Sleep Protection: Place in your included organza sachet and tuck under your pillow to guard against nightmares and psychic intrusion.
✦Uncrossing & Cleansing: Add to floor washes or spiritual baths to clear residue, remove crossed conditions, and restore energetic balance.
✦Court Case & Legal: A traditional Hoodoo herb; carry in a yellow or gold mojo bag alongside High John the Conqueror to tip scales of justice in your favor.
✦Healing & Recovery: Use in healing sachets or candle workings to support restoration after illness or prolonged spiritual strain.
✦Spell Jars & Sachets: Combine with rune, hyssop, and black salt for a complete cleansing and protection blend.

Ritual Suggestion Reversing & Protection Bath +

On a Saturday, prepare a spiritual bath by steeping agrimony herb in hot water for 10 minutes, straining, and adding to your bathwater with sea salt and lemon juice. Visualize harmful energy lifting from your body and being returned to its source. Follow with a white candle dressed with protection oil. Hang the remaining agrimony in your sachet above your bedroom door as a standing ward.
