Safety Warning

Spell candles are open flames and should be treated with extreme caution. To prevent fire, injury, and property damage, always follow these safety guidelines:

• Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always extinguish candles before leaving a room or going to sleep.

• Keep candles away from flammable materials. This includes curtains, bedding, carpets, paper, clothing, and anything else that can catch fire. Maintain a safe distance of at least one foot (30 cm) between the candle and any combustible item.

• Use a proper candle holder. Always place spell candles in a sturdy, non-combustible holder. The holder should be stable and wide enough to contain any wax that might spill. Never place a candle directly on a wooden, plastic, or any other flammable surface.

• Keep candles out of reach of children and pets. Curious hands and paws can easily knock over a burning candle, leading to a fire.

• Do not burn candles in a drafty area. A draft can cause the flame to flicker and create a taller, unstable flame, increasing the risk of fire. It can also cause the candle to burn unevenly.

• Trim the wick. Before lighting, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch (6 mm) to ensure a steady, controlled flame. A long wick can cause the flame to be too large and produce soot.

• Extinguish candles properly. Use a snuffer to extinguish the flame. Make sure the wick is fully extinguished and cool before handling the candle.

• Avoid handling a hot candle. Never move or touch a burning or recently extinguished candle until it has cooled down. The wax and the holder can be very hot and cause burns.

• Ensure good ventilation. Burning candles consume oxygen. Make sure there is some airflow in the room.

In case of a fire, have a fire extinguisher or a fire blanket readily available. If the fire is spreading, evacuate the area immediately and call emergency services.
