The Lunate Cross is an equal-sided cross with outward-facing crescent moons at the end of each arm. It is said to have been used as a power object by the Shamans of Northern Europe. The outward-facing crescents defend the center, or heart of the cross. They also represent the four phases of the moon. A cross with equal arms is an ancient symbol found in many cultures. The vertical beam represents the spiritual plane, that which connects us to the God; the horizontal beam represents our earthly or material plane of existence. At the center of the Lunate Cross is an eight-pointed star, representing regeneration, our core or center, and the creative process. It also represents stability and the Fixed stars of our solar system. The moons represent the Goddess in her many forms. The crescent moons represent our deeply dark feminine nature, expressive of many moods; similar to the moon in its many phases. The dark and light of the moon correspond to the yin and yang of nature; the feminine and masculine energies in constant flux, the continuous flow of one into another. Wearing the Lunate Cross will help you restore balance between your earthy and spiritual life. The Lunate Cross will also help you access your dark, sensual emotional nature by inviting the Goddess into your life.
