Isis, Egyptian Goddess of Motherhood. Faithful consort of Osiris and dedicated Mother of Horus. Regarded as the Mother and protectors of the Pharaohs. Isis was one of the most popular goddesses in Egypt, she had her own Priestesses and many temples were constructed in her honor. Isis is sometimes shown with a solar disc between cow horns on her head or crowned with a throne. |

STA-BAST Bast, Goddess
8" high and made of cold cast resin, with a bronzed finish.
Bast The Egyptian Cat Goddess. Goddess of the Sun, Music Joy and Dance. Apart from Joy, music and dance, Bast is also the Goddess of love, sex and fertility. Like the ferocious war goddess Sekhmet, Bast was originally a lioness deity but from 900 bce she began to be represented as a cat, perhaps because of her gentle nature. She was sometimes depicted with kittens, which symbolized her role as fertility deity. Mummified cats were often buried near her shrines.
