This original Baroque Cross necklace design of a traditional Celtic Cross is done in a "Baroque" style: The work that distinguishes the Baroque period [17th Century] is stylistically complex with the desire to evoke emotional states by appealing to the senses in dramatic ways. Examples of the Celtic cross date back as far as 5000 years BC; its origins are not known. The traditional "Celtic" Cross consists of a Circle centered upon the traditional "Latin cross." The shaft of the cross represents the World Axis; a Spiritual bridge between Heaven and the Earth. The four arms of the cross divide the world into the four directions, four elements, four seasons, and separates heaven and earth. The circle is a female symbol representing the unity of all life; Divine Light, and Spiritual Radiance. The cross combined with the circle unites the principles of female and male.
